How does HERA provide Quality Assurance within the Thermal Performance Industry?
Quality principles of a HERA Assessor include:
- Insurance: HERA assessors maintain professional indemnity insurance commensurate with the volume and scope of the work they undertake
- Continuing Professional Development: HERA assessors complete at least 12 CPD points in each year of accreditation, where one point equals at least one hour of time spent undertaking the CPD
- Excellent customer experience: HERA Assessors will demonstrate strong customer relationship and engagement approach and skills to deliver a positive experience for the consumer.
- Robust assessment approach: Assessors will have a strong ability to identify home energy efficiency features. Accurate data entry skills are necessary to ensure assessments accurately reflect home performance.
- Consumer-focused energy efficiency upgrades advice: Assessors will have the skills to assess and present appropriate options whilst considering the needs of the household.
- Robust administrative process: Assessors are given training and other support services, and must comply with administrative requirements, including audits.
- Reviews: HERA monitors Assessors ensuring they are conducting assessments in accordance with the latest NatHERS Technical Note, in compliance with jurisdiction’s application of the NCC and using the NatHERS Universal Certificate
- Consultation and continuous improvement: Assessors are invited to provide feedback to continuously improve the industry.
- Ethics: Assessors agree that they will comply with HERAs Assessor Code of Ethical Practice
- Health & Safety: HERA assessors agree that you will conduct your Assessments in a way which ensures the health and safety of yourself, and others, so far as reasonably practicable and which complies with all relevant workplace health and safety laws in the Jurisdictions in which you operate.
